In order to get an ATPL or Airline Transport Pilot Licence you need to do 2
things:
1. Pass ATPL theory exams (we don’t teach these ourselves but could organise
this for you)
2. Build 1500 hours of flying experience.
Some people do the theory early, pass the ATPL exams and get what is known
as a “frozen ATPL” – it then becomes unfrozen once they have the 1500 hours
flying.
It may not be the best course of action for you however if you really want an Australian frozen ATPL, whilst we do not offer this course, we will advise you how and where to do it
You usually don’t need an ATPL to get a job in an airline as a First Officer (which
is of course what you will be for the first few years as it takes many years
to gain Captaincy).
Therefore you should build your 1500 hours minimum experience “on the job”
as it would be far too expensive to pay for these hours.
