There are many different flying jobs however the vast majority of people who train with us are hoping to work for an Airline. Each airline around the world may have slightly different entry requirements however the common requirements are:

  • A Commercial Pilot Licence
  • A Multi Engine Endorsement
  • An Instrument Rating

Our Pilot school Australia provides the Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot License) and Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating) which include these qualifications. Therefore these are the courses of choice for most of our students. For most countries the 208 hour Diploma of Aviation with Multi Engine Instrument Rating program (which includes 70 hours pilot in command/solo) is sufficient to meet your requirements.

With these qualifications you will be in a position to make application to your local airline to be taken on by them and trained in the aircraft type they wish you to fly.

If you have any specific requirements that do not appear to be met by our courses, please let us know what they are and we will design a course that meets your needs.

If you are learning to fly as a hobby rather than a career then you only need to undertake the Private Pilot Licence course. This licence allows you to fly with passengers anywhere in Australia (or worldwide once you do the local conversion). The main difference between a Private Licence and a Commercial Licence is that with a Commercial Licence you may fly for hire or reward (i.e get paid) whilst a Private Pilot Licence holder may not.

For further details on the courses offered by us, please go to the Courses section of this website.

To work out how much your course will cost, please visit the Course Information section of this website.

  • Licence issue (approximately AUD$200)
  • Landing fees and Air Services charges (allow a budget of AUD$2000-$2500)

You can either make your own arrangements for accommodation or we will put you in contact with our Homestay Provider company to arrange Homestay accommodation for you. Homestay means to live with a local person/family. There are many people with a spare room that wish to host overseas students like you.

The weekly fee is approximately AUD$300 and includes your room, all meals and laundry. This is often a great way to get started and settle in to your life in Melbourne. Some students choose to stay with this arrangement long term however most use it as a “starting” option and then make their own plans, like renting a house and sharing with fellow students.

If you would like to book in for Homestay, please indicate let us know. You can also check out the cost of rental and share accommodation in Melbourne by visiting:
